Personal Power is a Daily Approach to Living

As we go down this road of reinventing ourselves, reclaiming the things that we lost is a priority. Two of the areas we lost related to personal power and personal time. Since our life became so out of control any semblance of power was imagined and when it was real it was fleeting. Our personal time was equally affected. Even though our disease and lack of behavioral balance left us isolated. This isolation did not translate into healthy personal time. We became our own prisoners, while we took emotional hostages.

Our entire life revolved around trying to make sense out of something that did not make sense. We became so tired and so lost. That tiredness and sense of loss was what motivated so many of us to seek recovery. Eventually, pain becomes our best friend. Pain is a primary indicator that something needs attention. Whether or not we give it positive attention is determined by the type and degree of the pain. The very thing that was our greatest source of discomfort now became the catalyst that would drive us to say “I cannot live this way any longer.“Part of the recovery process is unraveling the mess to reveal what is at the heart of the matter.

This MUST be addressed as early as possible. Without this acknowledgment, the proceeding plan of recovery cannot take root. Once we come to that realization, then we are ready to begin going down the road of realizing the Power of Personal Time. Here are some of the areas that benefit by taking personal time and growing the empowerment it gives to us

  1.  We become less irritable in common and simple aspects of our lives. Ceasing to struggle over things we can’t control gives us more time to focus on what we can control
  2.  Motivation is increased as a direct result of feeling more motivated by the things that are going well. Feeling we lacked accomplishment is a real drain on our personal motivation.
  3.  We reduce stress when we increase our personal power leading to enjoying more personal time. We begin to things that make our feel-good feel good.
  4.  Common mistakes of are reduced. We have reduced the amount of stress we had previously operated under.
  5.  Personal time can be so refreshing. We will begin to feel like we have taken our lives back. We will even be more enjoyable to be around.
  6.  The priorities of life will get back into alignment. For some of us, this will be a first. We will accomplish more with less effort.

Understanding the Power of Personal Time could encourage us to unpack the concept. We want to fully understand the concept to more fully embrace it. Once unpacked, we will begin to look for ways to explore and expand our personal time. The more we do this the more power we will realize and the more personal time we will work toward. Personal Power and Personal Time go hand in hand. Their ability to directly affect each other is not measurable. I hope you have found this to be true. If you haven’t already traveled down this road, I hope you do so now. To miss out on the Power would be a shame.

Taking Personal Time is a missing vital element of our lives. To discover them both will satisfy us in ways more than anything else we have encountered. Be blessed and stay well.
