When a piece of iron is repeatedly rubbed against another it will naturally become sharper. The more time this iron spends being rubbed, the sharper the object will be. The same principle applies in our lives. We will always seek the level we are on or ascribe to be.
What separates First Things First for me was that it was a book written by Stephen Covey. It was more than a cliché’. It was a philosophy. It was a blueprint for me to follow and a means for me to elevate my recovered life.
As so many of us, while in my active addiction, I was so far out ahead of where my personal choices could take me. In the sport of snow skiing there is a term called “out over your skis.“
Step Eleven is the 2nd of the daily maintenance steps in the plan of recovery. Without this step, it is near impossible to gain the spiritual insight needed to live a full life and be of maximum help to others.
