Today we are going to discuss Step 2 of the 12 Steps of recovery. Sanity is defined as soundness of mind and soundness of judgment. Every step has its own premise and importance within the 12 Steps. There is a particular independence each step brings. Having said that, what makes each step powerful is its connection to the other steps. Without this interconnection the steps would lack the value and power they collectively possess. To focus or practice any step independent of the other steps would be doing a disservice to that individual step and the 12 Steps as a whole. This approach would also jeopardize a person’s personal recovery because it would feed into their ego. It would enable a person to treat the 12 steps as they would a buffet.

Robert is the Recovery Guy. Getting clean and sober on April 25, 1986 has given me the insight and practical skill set to not only stay sober, but to also re-invent myself to the person I always wanted to become. Showing others how to do this is my life goal.
