how to let go

How To Let Go. One would think that letting go of something that was no longer effective and or was causing harm would be easy and regular. Yet, this is one of the most challenging things we do. What is the connection between something that seems desirable yet challenging? I know the familiar has its own attractiveness, yet something more beneficial and especially something less painful would be a no brainer.

Steps to Letting Go

  1. Pray and mediate over the process
  2. Write down the reasons to hang on and the reasons to let go.
  3. Isolate the intellect from the emotion
  4. Identify the fear that is triggering the emotion
  5. Share the fear with someone you trust
  6. Be courageous knowing that the FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real
  7. Have something already in place to replace what is being let go. A snake sheds his skin only because there is a fresh one waiting
  8. Journal the experiential growth
  9. Share with another person(s) the victory
  10. Ask God for a greater insight into the areas of growth

Doing these things will consider letting go an opportunity rather than something to fear. How To Let Go

Robert is the Recovery Guy. Getting clean and sober on April 25, 1986 has given me the insight and practical skill set to not only stay sober, but to also re-invent myself to the person I always wanted to become. Showing others how to do this is my life goal.
