B Positive. One of the best things about being back in charge of daily decision making is choosing how to view life and choices we can make.
The choice to live with a positive voice is positively the best choice I have ever made.
It is scientifically documented that being positive sets in motion mental pathways in motion. Per Dr. Lou E. Whitaker (link at the end of the notes) “Taking a look at the prefrontal cortex, when happy thoughts occur, there is brain growth through the reinforcement and generation of new synapses.”
For those of us who lost so much of our mental functionality via our addiction, this is an encouraging fact. To be able to generate new synapses is exciting. One might say, If I knew what a synapse was I might be excited about it. I am glad you asked. “Synapses are the gaps between neurons. These gaps allow neurotransmitters to travel from one neuron to another. Neurons are essentially brain cells, although they can exist in other parts of the body than the brain. The synapses allow for chemicals to traverse and communicate with other neurons. So, merely being regularly positive helps me grow or in many of our cases regrow brain cells that have been damaged, destroyed or the regeneration process shut down during our addictive life. As a person of over 3 decades of recovery, I can attest to this. With the amount of alcohol and drugs that I consumed in my using career, the fact I have the mental capacity that I have astounds me. Medically speaking this can happen to you. The great thing about science like this is it has no prejudice. B Positive
