Be as a brook. It is safe to drink from a brook because the water is flowing. The rocks that the water flows over act as a filter for freshness. I want my recovered life to be the same.

Redirecting our thinking is critical to our recovered life and should be a constant. If not, negative thoughts will hijack our moments which can steal our day. Philippians 4:8

“ Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

True: being in accordance with the actual state or conditions; conforming to reality or fact; not false

Honorable: worthy of honor and high respect; estimable; creditable

Just: guided by truth, reason, justice, and fairness

Pure: free from anything of a different, inferior, or contaminating kind; free from extraneous matter

Lovely: having a beauty that appeals to the heart or mind as well as to the eye, as a person or a face

Commendable: worthy of praise and praise is the act of expressing approval or admiration; commendation; laudation.

Just Keep Swimming with these things in mind and our lives will always be like the fresh water from a brook.

Robert is the Recovery Guy. Getting clean and sober on April 25, 1986 has given me the insight and practical skill set to not only stay sober, but to also re-invent myself to the person I always wanted to become. Showing others how to do this is my life goal.
