One of the most remarkable things about recovery is personal power. One of our primary missions in life is to find, discover and elevate our own personal power. I came across an article in Forbes magazine by a person named Bonnie Marcus. I would highly suggest you read the article; it’s well worth the read. Bonnie lists 10 things one ought to do to create and grow their personal power and they are;

  1. Acknowledge and declare your ambition
  2. Replace negative self-talk with positive affirmations
  3. Advocate for yourself and others.
  4. Ask for help when you need it
  5. Speak up and share your opinions and ideas
  6. Acknowledge your fears
  7. Schedule quiet time
  8. Build a supportive network
  9. Maintain a growth mindset
  10. Practice self-care

Robert is the Recovery Guy. Getting clean and sober on April 25, 1986 has given me the insight and practical skill set to not only stay sober, but to also re-invent myself to the person I always wanted to become. Showing others how to do this is my life goal.
