Robert Pardon
Personal Life Coach & Career CoachFrom Broken to Whole
Hi, I’m Robert! I would love the opportunity to be your personal life coach and guide you as I was guided. I took advantage of the help offered to me. I have combined that information in proven ways to assist you.
My Story
Hello, my name is Robert Pardon. I was told early on, as I came to Alcoholics Anonymous, that the goal of every person who enters into fellowship is to “recover from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body. This is where the nick name of “Recovery Guy” was born.
For many years, I went by “Becoming Well Now.” Both names have had great meaning to me in my journey of recovery and wellness.
I first came to AA through the back door of Gamblers Anonymous in late 1985. While I was an alcoholic and drug addict, I also had become a compulsive overeater (who was also bulimic) and a compulsive gambler. My thinking was if I could get the gambling under control I would drink and use less. My denial was deep and I thought I drank and used because of external influences. I did not understand the cellular level on which my addiction lived.
I finally made it to the rooms of AA in February 1986. I had gone into treatment and my journey began. I stayed 7 days for detox and thought myself well enough to leave and attend AA and NA meetings on my own. I learned all the lingo and made some friends, but I never gave myself over to the notion that I was of “the hopeless variety.”
I was able to stay sober and clean for 71 days. I went back to old playgrounds and old playmates. In a short period of time I was out ripping and running. I was very fortunate that it only took me 5 days to hit a new bottom of despair. I was grateful that my first 71 days of staying sober and attending meetings “ruined my drinking and using.”
I returned to the rooms of AA on April 25, 1986 and have never looked back, except in the taking of the 12 steps of recovery. My life has grown in ways that I could have only dreamed. I will be discussing these areas and how I got there in my audio and video podcasts.

My Values & Beliefs
Everyone deserves to have hope realized
Sometimes life gets very challenging and we wonder If it will ever get better. John Maxwell said “If there is hope in the future, there is power in the present”. I will help you find that power.
If we create our own misery, we can also create our happiness
You have always possessed the power you thought eluded you. Everything that you need to become fulfilled you already own. I will help you find the power you crave.
The joy has always been about the journey, never the destination
How many years have you been wanting to arrive somewhere, but when you arrived you were disillusioned? Life has always been about the things along the way, not where you end up. Viewing life as the never-ending journey of realized expectations is a life worth living.
My Approach
I start with the notion that everyone has value. You have value because of who you are not what you have done (or not done). Starting with that premise, I work with you in finding when your life became so challenging/difficult.
- We then isolate when you sought out behaviors or substances to distract or negate the pain.
- Once we uncover that starting point we count what strengths we own.
- We then work with them and begin building.
- I help you discover that EVERYTHING you will ever need to become more than you ever wanted to become you already possess.
Exploring for and discovering one’s personal power is only eclipsed by unleashing on the rest of your life. Life is the greatest of all journeys and I hope to lead you on that journey.
